Hi!

I am getting that famed DLL error after installing primoPDF. The problem now is that I went in regedit, and look at the APTL Ghostscript key, and it didn't seem to be pointing anywhere. I decided to uninstall primoPDF completely, and get rid of the APTL Ghostscript key (which I believe was from installing Ghostscript last week, which lead to the same error BTW.)

Basically, ALL the PDF creating programs that I have downloaded are giving me this DLL error. Even the file to ps to pdf trick gives that same error (when using Ghostview).

I really want to use PrimoPDF, because it seems very easy to use, and also enables me to easily upgrade to more functions.

I was thinking of entering the Ghostscipt keys myself. Could anyone be so kind as to tell me just how to do this, and what keys must be entered? I reinstalled everything, and there are no keys to be found anywhere! Please help me guys!

Sincerely,

PDFtrooper

I found this in an earlier post:

I reinstalled PrimoPDF after first removing every trace of it that I could find - in the registry and in c:\windows and c:\windows\system - and now it works. It's rather faster, I might add, than the other methods I have, PDF Creator from Sourceforge and the print-to-PS-then-convert route. I now have, I find, three different versions of Ghostscript on my machine and am waiting for something to melt or explode.

Which files must I erase in the windows and windows system folders to completely remove primopdf? I want to try reinstalling from scratch to see what will happen.

I really hope that I can make it work this time! I really need those PDF files!

Thanks in advance for the help!

You would need to remove your entire GS folder which should be in your program files->activepdf->PrimoPDF folder. Then in your system32 folder you would remove Primomonxx.dll Next you would go into the registry and remove your HKLM/software/Ghostscript tree and also the HKLM/Software/activePDF/PrimoPDF tree.

That should pretty much cover it.

We run from the actuall DLL and place it locally within our folder instead of installing ghostscript. If you're already installed ghostscript then you can run the uninstaller for that. But it should not affect primo as the version of GS that I look for is hardcoded within primo.
