I just installed PrimoPFD and I attempted to print a Word document to PDF. I am following the instructions of selecting File>Print and then I select the PrimoPDF printer and then click OK. I never get the CREATE PDF window to finish the process? I tried it in Powerpoint as well? Did it not install properly? Help!

I had exactly the same problem (XP home). Installed according to the instructions. PrimoPDF printer appeared as an option for printing and was present as an installed printer, but also did not get the create PDF window like you. No obvious problem with any of the printer properties, so I uninstalled PrimoPDF, restarted my machine and then reinstalled PrimoPDF ensuring that all other programmes were closed (including internet conection). It now works perfectly. Ive used it for word, excel and powerpoint. The only things that were different second time was that Adobe Reader did do an update after installation the first time and I wonder if this messed up the installation and after the second install, I was prompted to conect to the internet the first time I attempted to print to PDF and had to allow PrimoPDF to access internet from the firewall (it hasn't required internet access for subsequent prints however). Don't know if this made the difference or if it was just a glitch on the first download. Hope that it works for you - it does seem to be an excellent product form my limited use so far.

I am running XP Media Edition and I am having the same problem as Lorimum. I have tried the fix suggested by jono65 but it still does not work and the Create PDF window still does not appear. It saves my documents as .prn file, which will not open with Adobe unless you go through several steps first. When I click on the Find Printer button, I receive an error message saying "The Directory Service is currently unavailable." I have uninstalled, reinstalled, shut down firewall to install, changed browsers, restarted machine between each install, disabled my internet during install..........all to no avail. While I realize this is a free program, it is still frustrating to spend several hours, as in at least 6 or 7, trying to get this to work properly. If the Directory Service issue is the problem, then does anyone know where can I find a fix for the "Directory Service unavailability"?
