Hi,

I've had a look at PrimoPDF, great product. I would like to make this available
to my company using Group Policy. I've seen in this thread..

http://forums.primopdf.com/showthread.php?t=53

..that there is no native MSI build of PrimoPDF available at the moment.

Would it be OK if I was to repackage the .exe into an .msi?

Many thanks

Feel free, make sure you follow the license rules though which means no distribution for profit, etc.

When you complete this repackaging...I'd appreciate any info on how to do it. I've tried it a couple of times but am getting nowhere.....

Ya, I would like to see an MSI based installed published for it...

But in the meantime, those who are really stuck can script out something like:

O:\PrimoSetup.exe /r /f1O:\setup2.iss <-- to record the installation

O:\PrimoSetup.exe /s /f1O:\setup2.iss <-- to replay the installation on the client's

But in the meantime, those who are really stuck can script out something like:
O:\PrimoSetup.exe /r /f1O:\setup2.iss <-- to record the installation
O:\PrimoSetup.exe /s /f1O:\setup2.iss <-- to replay the installation on the client's.
To add to this:

O:\PrimoSetup.exe /s /f1.\setup2.iss /f2c:\temp\PrimoPDF_Inst.log

/f1 = is the redirect for the answer file (setup2.iss) with the addition of .\ which basically says the answer file is in the same folder as the setup.exe

/f2 = is the redirect command line switch for the install log... in my example it creates an install log called PrimoPDF_Inst in c:\temp.

The PrimoSetup.exe /s /f1.\setup2.iss /f2c:\temp\PrimoPDF_Inst.log would work from an SMS 2.0 and SMS2003 Compressed Distribution point.

NOTE:
Applicable ONLY to PrimoPDF v1.0

A response file (Setup.iss) recorded (/r) on XP SP1 does not work to install on an XP SP2 system (and vice versa).

When you review the install log created with /f2... the ResultCode =-3
(that is: Required data not found in the Setup.iss file.)

Record and use seperate answer files
O:\PrimoSetup.exe /r /f1O:\setupXP.iss
O:\PrimoSetup.exe /r /f1O:\setupXPSP2.iss

Thank you for taking the time to write that up Re~Silent As you stated, and I would like to reiterate:

This is only applicable for Primo v.1.0
