Hi all, hope someone can help.
After I installed Primo 3 (upgrading from older version, and did all the uninstall stuff etc), I tried to create a pdf using the standard process. A message came up "No printers installed" and was prompting me to install a printer using the add printer facility.
When I clicked on "add printer" in Control Panel - Printers and Faxes, a message came up saying "Operation could not be completed. The print spooler service is not running.
I can no longer print anything, can not add a printer, can not create a pdf, can not open the current printer icon in control panel's printers and faxes.
Please help with fix for this problem.
Had no trouble with the earlier version on this system two days ago.
Have just updated Acrobat Reader to new version.
Thanks
Shaun

Hi Shaun,
Do the following:
Start -> Run -> services.msc /s
Then
Scan down to Print Spooler, right click, click on Start
The Print Spooler services should start and you will have printing functions restored. At this point, you should also be able to add printers.
It would appear that the PrimoPDF installation may not have completed since the PrimoPDF printer was not automatically added for you. Be prepared to uninstall and reinstall PrimoPDF if adding a printer is not successful.

Hi Lance
Thanks heaps, printer is back up and running.
Since I have upgraded Adobe Acrobat Reader to the new version, old Primo and new Primo do not complete the conversion to pdf properly.
The pdf document has most of the text etc missing.
Any thoughts?

Hi Shaun,
The new Reader should not have had changed anything for PrimoPDF (I have installed 8.0 after a Primo install and it continued to work). Try printing the document to a printer and see if the results are correct. If so, I can suggest uninstall/install PrimoPDF to reset settings that may have been changed on your system.

I have the same problem of not seeing any printers in the start/printers and faxes window. After removing primoPDF and all printer drivers (including from the registry) and executing these instructions:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324757
and
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314085/
I am still unable to print or add new printers.
I am unable to start print spooler in services due to this message:
"Could not start print spooler"
Error 1068: the dependency service or group failed to start".
Print spooler is dependable of LexBceServer (which I stopped and unplugged in msconfig) and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) which is on automatic (the start button is shaded in grey).
What else can I do??? Thanks.

I've installed PrimoPDF for the first time. Running on XP. When I tried printing a test page (single word on notepad) the job went to the print queue but stayed there forever. I cancelled the job and tried again. This time I got an error - "... before you can print.. need to install a printer... do you want to install a printer now." When I click YES I get, "Operation could not be completed. The Print Spooler Services is not running." So I went to my Computer Management and restarted Print Spooler Services. I keep getting the same error over and over and over. For some reason the Print Spooler Services keeps getting switched off. I've tried cleaning up all my drivers and registries but I still keep getting the same problem. BTW I do not have a Lexmark. PLEASE HELP!! Thank you.
