I know I haven't been able to answer a lot of your questions, and I thank those of you that have stepped up to help fellow users. That was the initial intention of this board and your participation is greatly appreciated.

On to the news, I'm hoping to have a new installer built by next week which will address the following issues:

-Blank page due to Installshield sourcing the wrong Program File Directory

-Strange Characters on Viewers other than Acrobat Reader due to a missing PPD file on xp/2k/NT machines

-NT support (hopefully) It seems some of the API calls are not supported, but I hope to find ways around this.

-Print/Screen settings not working on some systems. (internal coding issue)

In summary, I hope to have this in Beta Next week and get it fully tested. After that's done I'll post a link.

Thank you all for your Support and legwork in getting to the bottom of these issues.

Douglas,

Is there a work around I can do for my NT machines in the interim? I would also be willing to try out your Beta version and provide feedback.

Thanks,
Mark

Well, right now it seems that the printer monitor and port creation API calls are what's failing on NT machines. Being that NT came out on May 30th 1995 and is considered a Legacy operating system we are not focusing our efforts on that particular system.

You can install it manually if you have knowledge of print monitors and after I get an installer written I will go ahead and document how to do a manual installation, but in the mean time I will try my best to include support and primarily focus on fixing the rest of the issues with a new installer.

Does this new version fix the mac compatiblity problem that was mentioned in the other forum? (Something about font substitutions and the driver used in windows 2000/xp ???)

Thanks

The way inastall primoPDF on NT4 is explained at below site

http://blog.goo.ne.jp/souba_moe/e/9b8bcc1b764d95b331fc51ca5dc48f0e

(this site is japanese)

So I translate the main point of this sentence.

1,install primoPDF

2,startup registry editor(regedit.exe) and add below key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Print\Monitors\Redirected Port

3,In the key add(input) charactor "driver" and value "Primomonnt.dll"

4,Reboot your computer

5,looking into port ,check PrimoPort appears.

6,install Adobe Universal PostScript Windows Driver (http://www.adobe.co.jp/support/downloads/pspwin.html japanese site)

I think install http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=1505

and register PrimoPDF virtual printer(exist in C:\Program Files\ActivePDF\PrimoPDF\Drivers etc) with using "PrimoPort"

Dear Douglas,

first of all i'd like to say thanks for your support and your great tool!

As mentioned by other posters, i'm facing the problem with the "...\program files" - directory and, therefore, a blank pdf-page. I use the german version of Windowx XP, so the program-directory is by default "...\programme\" and i would like to keep all programms in this directory....

In this thread you announced a new version with a fix is on the way. Is there a release date yet?

Thanks,
Joerg

will this release cover the issue with non-administrators using the software?

i.e. Adob eAcrobat not opening and the ActivePDF folder not having user's modification permissions
