View Full Version : Bug: "-8" Error message

When trying to convert a specific Word file, I repeatedly get this error message:
"Conversion to PDF failed: PDF Conversion failed: -8"
I seem to only have this problem with this file.
This file has tables- this is the only reason I can think of for the message. Could this be it? Has anyone else experience a similar error?
If needed I can provide the file.
Thank you. I really need this one converted!!!

I just got the same error. Using newest version of Primo as well.

I've just had the same problem converting this URL: http://www.sika.co.uk/uk-home/ind-uk-home/ind-uk-customer/ind-uk-customer-marine/ind-uk-customer-marine-products2.htm. I can convert other URLs to PDFs so I guess there is something in this html document that PrimoPDF doesn't like? The Print Spooler service also crashes when I try to print/convert this URL too.
I'm running Vista Home premium SP2 with all updates. The (edited) PrimoPDF log for this is attached below

I get the same error code -8 when attempting to convert a specific file (lots of images and some tables)
before primo pdf returns -8 code I can see Spooler SubSystem being closed without any solution from Win Vista
had to use another converter for this file which I like less then Primo - other files are converted ok with primo
help plz

Primo is a virtual printer used to create PDF file. The link you provided is a link to a PDF file. If you are having difficulties printing to paper, contact the vendors of the app you are using to print that document to paper.

I'm having the same -8 problem. I'm trying to print a pdf to a pdf -- reason being is because it is a form and I cannot save the form filled in but I want to keep a hard copy not just print to paper and thought printing to pdf would be the way to go, but it doesn't appear to be working.
What does the -8 mean?

It happens to me when I try to print this document to a PDF.

The reason I tried this was so I could complete the form as the document linked above has security enabled that prevents that, for some bizarre reason.
Nitro PDF can't print it to PDF either and comes up with three blank pages.
In the end I had to print to a physical printer and scan the page!
