After I have selected File>Print and then selected PrimoPDF printer the Create PDF window will not appear. The document is instead saved as a prn-file which is not readable in Adobe.

There are a number of things that PrimoPDF does, but generating a PRN file isn't one of them. The installation seems to have went awry. Please uninstall/install again.
