I'm writing in the hope you can offer some help with my problem.

I am desperately trying to get a downloadable ebook product onto ebay. I've done a lot of work on it and have tried to incorporate an affiliate link onto the bottom of each page of the ebook. The clickable text reads "Excellent Video Tutorials" and I have linked it to my affiliate site.

I am using "Jarte" to do the word processing and everything seems to work fine until I turn my copy into a pdf. Then the link just sits there doing nothing. It looks like a link but it may as well be ordinary typing.

PrimoPDF doesn't have any difficulties at all if I print an ordinary web address but when it's masked, as in the example above, it's just non functional.

Do you have any idea what the problem is and what I can do to fix it?

PrimoPDF doesn't support links. If the URL is entered as text, it will be displayed as a link because the PDF picks up the URL format and provides the added function of providing it as a link.

PrimoOnline will generate a true hotlink as part of the PDF. See if it produces the PDF that you need.

Thank you very much Lance. I got a downloaded copy of my ebook from PrimoOnline and the hyperlinks work perfectly. I'm back in business.

All the very best to you.:)

I am having the exact same problem, but PrimoOnline won't work for me because I need to restrict printing, and copying.

Will nitro work for me?

I do not know of any programs that convert the hidden hyperlinks. For now, it seems like you will have to purchase something like Adobe Distiller.

Work-around: Even though it may look somewhat unappealing, you can add the FULL URL, to any item you want a link to; and the Full URL will act as a “clickable” link in the FREE PrimoPDF program.

Here is a link that gives some more detail on the security offered with NitroPDF. I don't know exactly what details you are looking for as far as security but based on what you mentioned it sounds like NitroPDF would work well for your application. Feel free to download the trial version to test it out prior to purchasing it. The trial version is a full version product with a 14 day license.

I need a PDF program that supports "hidden" links, because I have a lot of long links.
Unfortunately, in december 2006, Lance Kayashima responded that PrimoPDF does not support it.

Questions :
1. Does Nitro PDF Professional supports them, or it is a plan for Primo PDF to have them ?

2. May I have a more precise explaination for the work-around given to Nailbreak in April 2008. How can I "add the FULL URL, to any item I want a link to; " ?

Thank you very much.

nitro pdf professional does not support conversion of hidden links during the pdf publishing process; the links must be in the syntax of www.domain.com.

using nitro pdf professional you can go through the pdf and manually create links within the document after the pdf has been created,

PrimoPDF will not convert hyperlinks from the original document to PDF. This feature is available in Nitro PDF Professional.

How do I create manual links in nitro pdf professional after creating the pdf? I can't find any instructions in the help section. I want to create clickable links for affiliate sites so that the URL won't show, the reader should just be able to click on the word with the link hidden. From your post above, it sounds like that would be possible, but I can't find any documentation on how to do that. Can you (or anyone else) please help? THANKS!!!
