I've used primopdf for many years with no problems. Recently, I had to install it on an older computer and I've found the current version so slow to load that it's unuseable.
3 questions:
Is it possible to find a download of the older (3.0) version-most of the sites I googled didn't have the old version?
Is this typical of version 4 or is it just this computer (W98SE/366mhz/96mb ram)?
Is there a way to configure v4 to operate faster?

Here is a link that offers some of the older versions for download...

http://www.filehippo.com/download_primopdf/

Please keep in mind that this site is in no way affiliated with us and we can not be held responsible for any material on the site.

Also there are different options that will create different quality PDF's. The lower the quality the faster the conversion process. The "Screen" option would be the fastest and creates the smallest output file.

Thank you for the response. I had found the filehippo site and installed the older versions, but kept getting a missing mfc80u.dll error message when attempting to create a pdf. That file is there in the same location as it is on another computer with v3 working, so I don't know what the problem is. The only other difference between the computers is this one is running W98 with Acrobat 5.01, the other one is 98SE with Acrobat 6.

What version of IE are you running?

mfc80u.dll is a Microsoft file that is referenced via Internet Explorer. If you do not have IE6.0 or later it may not be able to find the files location. If possible you may want to try upgrading to IE 6.0 or later to see if that will resolve the issue for you.
