Could you please post me a link to the document you are having this problem. This is a known issue that we are currently working on and more information would be helpful in resolving this issue.

I get this message when trying to print a web page , where the page name that is passed has an vertical bar in the name.

Even though I change the name to get rid of the vertical bar, it does not create the file.

You asked for an example link, here is one:
http://www.download.com/8301-2007_4-9871881-12.html?tag=nl.e415
It also has the vertical bar in the website Title which is where Primo attempts to extract a filename from. Of course there may be other characters than the "|" that appear in website titles that are also illegal characters for naming files in Windows.

I have also had this problem a few times.

To this humble person's eyes, it seems that when PrimoPDF tries to create a file name for the output it uses the web page's <title></title> verboten. Unfortunately, if there is an illegal (for windows operating system file names) character, we get the Illegal Character error and PrimoPDF doesn't create any input. I just had a web page (I can't give you the link because it's inside a members-only password protected forum) that I tried printing that had quotation marks in the html header title that gave me the Illegal Character error. I saved the html file out of Firefox to my desktop, edited the .html file to remove the offending characters. I loaded the local file back into Firefox and PrimoPDF had no problems printing the new file. (This was so I could then open it up in AcrobatReader and print in booklet.)

I hope my analysis helps add another perspective to finding the problem (or confirms what the developers have already found/suspected). :)

Oh, my relevant system specs: WindowsXP SP2, FireFox v2.0.0.14, PrimoPDF v4.0.1.13

There is an additional link, which cannot be printed:

http://www.vbb-fahrinfo.de/hafas/query.exe/dn?L=impuls&seqnr=3&ident=j0.0184981.1212396337&OK#focus

If I print this link to an XPS file (with MS XPS Document Writer) and try to print that file with Primo PDF, then "Access to path is denied" error message appears on the screen.

I believe it's safe to assume this is a permissions issue.

Try adding permissions to the windows/temp directory.

is there a fix for this?

I think it is definitely a pipe in the name but i cannot change the name as it is a webpage

Did you try what I requested in my previous post?
