I can no longer get PrimoPDF to work. I'm not sure what changed (likely a windows update thing), but now I get PDF creation errors. I downloaded the latest version of the free version of PrimoPDF and have changed the security on the windows\temp directory as suggested in this forum. The error message is "PDF Creation failed -2".

I am running Vista, printing a single word document from either Word or Excel 2007 or Notepad. I have Acrobat 8 installed.

Any idea what is wrong? Is there a place that lists what these error codes mean?

Thank you.

I realized that I had recently installed Ghostscript for viewing some older eps files and upon review of the file creation log for PrimoPDF I see:
gs: Interpreter revision (860) does not match gs_init.ps revision (861).

How do I fix this?

I uninstalled my ghostscript installation that came with ghostview and now it works. However, I no longer can use gsview. Clearly there needs to be a solution for this scenario.

It looks like you simply have two versions of the same file which are incompatible. This is a ghostscript file so when you install ghostscript you simply need to verify that the versions match.

There is no way of knowing what version of Ghostscript PrimoPDF is using. In fact, you'd never know it was even using it until you had an error. Further, you can't match up versions of Ghostscript as there isn't a repository of versions at such a high resolution (ie every minor incremental version is not archived for public access).
primoPDF should be a bit more flexible in what it can use.
