The current version of PrimoPDF that I have (3.2?) indicates that it supports .DOC files. For the most part that is true. It supports the hyperlinked use of a full URI (URL, if you prefer), however, it does not support the hyperlink of a single word. For example, the word VERGE may be hyperlinked in a .DOC file to a specific web site, but in conversion to a PDF format that link is lost. Are there plans in the future development of PrimoPDF to include such a feature?

PrimoPDF displays exactly what can be printed. Since a hyperlink can not be printed it can not be displayed.

However, instead of using a word with a URL attached, if you use the full path www.activepdf.com for example it will convert to a link in the PDF file. Our other professional grade products which are not based on the PrimoPDF printer will convert hyperlinks if that is something you are interested.

Jason;
I cannot get the funding to buy the professonal software, so, unfortunately, that is a moot point. I am not certain that I fully understand your point regarding the link, but if you go to this site, http://home.comcast.net/~n1colina/ and click on the Patent/Safety Pinions and Barrels offering, you will see what I am trying to convey. The patent numbers themselves are specifically linked to the appropriate Patent Office web site entries. My point is that a lengthy and complicated URI can be activated by the use of a fairly simple label. My question then makes sense: is this a feature that will be included in a future version of Primo (and when will it be released), or does a work-around currently exist? Thanks!

Link:
activePDF (http://www.activepdf.com)

URL:
http://www.activepdf.com

The first will not convert because when it is printed all you see is "activePDF" not the link attached to it, however when printing the second you see the full URL which can be converted into a hyperlink.

We do have other products which can handle what you are trying to do but unfortunately those features are not included in our free PrimoPDF product.

Jason;
Thanks. The question was worth asking and I appreciate the response.
