I have tried saving files as .pdf, but they are saved as .prn. I have sent myself emails with these files attached and I can't open them. I am asked to access the net to find the original programme of the file. The file is a word document, created on Windows XP. I cannot send my clients files if they cannot open them. How do I save them as a pdf file.

I hope you have the latest PrimoPDF installed. This is how it works.
1. Assuming that you are using MS Word. Open the Document that you want to convert in MS Word.
2. Select Print
3. Choose the PrimoPDF Printer and Press Print
4. After a while you will see another PrimoPDf screen. In this screen you will have the options of changing the Folder and creating the PDF. Once you choose the folder you want to save the PDF. Press the Create PDF button. That will create the PDF file in the folder that you chose earlier.

Later you will have toe attach the created PDF to your email to send to your clients.

I am having the same problem. I downloaded PrimoPDF from your website yesterday so I assume it is the most recent version.
The box to select what and where to send is never displayed. I see a page count at the bottom of my document. I have trried with both the "print to file" option on the printer selection screen checked and unchecked.
How do I generate the .pdf?

Don't use Print to File option. This is not needed to generate the PDF.
I assume you are using windows vista. You may have to check the permissions or disable UAC. There are few posts in the forum on how to disable this.

OK, something weird is happening, last night when I tried this numerous times, following the same steps as you have listed this morning, it continuously saved them as .prn. I have tried again and Hey presto, it saved as a .pdf. Cannot see why it worked this time. Thanks for your help.
