security settings do not work

i did not check "allow users to copy text and graphics from my pdf," "allow users to add comments," or "allow users to change my pdf," but after creation, i was still able to copy and paste the selected text. any ideas?

I have downloaded and installed the latest free version of PrimoPDF a week or two ago.

However, I have the same problems.

The security settngs do not work. When I leave the checkbox blank for 'do not allow users to copy text and graphics from my PDF', I am still able to do so when I opened it using my Adobe Reader.

Please advise.

I have the same problem. Running on XP SP2 as administrator. Downloaded the latest version 2.0

The way it is implemented is a little confusing. Enabling security is a COMBINATION ...you have to use the checkboxes AND you need to have a password specified.

Workarounds Etc. for Security Probs in 2.0

At first I thought that security wasn't working in 2.0 as well. It is, but it has some twists with how the options are set. To have security work you MUST fill in a security password. You can NOT have *just* an OPEN password, nor can you have NO passwords. You have to have a Security Password defined.

1) OPEN password only = *NO* SECURITY
2) SECURITY password only = SECURITY OK
3) OPEN and SECURITY password = SECURITY OK
4) NO PASSWORDS = *NO* SECURITY

Still, even with a securituy password, I cannot get the 'allow comments' to work. I set 'allow comments' and Adobe shows comments as not alloed.

Will there ever be a fix for security settings? Looks like everyone has had problems with this for quite some time.

First, sorry my english
The program is very nice and easy, but in security, if i place password to change security and 128bits encryption, I can't open the pdf file in reader 7, gives error. With 40bit encryption works fine.
How I can decide the problem?
