How Do I Create A Custom Page Size?

I created a 6 x 9 inch Word file,
Opened the print menu,
Selected PrimoPDF printer,
Opened the printer Properties dialogue,
Opened the Advanced dialogue,
Set the page size to 6 x 9 inches,
Tell everything OK,
Then print.

The created pdf file opens in AdobeReader 9.
It shows me an 8.5 x 11 inch page with my little 6 x 9 block of text centered in the page. So, I check the page Properties: Same thing; it tells me the page is 8.5 x 11 inches.

Can someone please tell me how to create a custom page? The process doesn't seem to work. Is this a Primo problem, or possibly an AdobeReader problem?
