Transparent Problem

Sorry for the bad pun... Anyway, I'm trying to create a .pdf from Pagemaker, utilizing a number of overlapping graphics. PrimoPDF doesn't seem to want to carry transparent options over into the resulting .pdf, regardless of which graphics format I use. I've just recently learned about the wisdom of Inserting graphic objects, rather than copy'n'paste from one program (Word, most often) to another (PageMaker, again most often and in this order), and I learned the trick of rotating the graphics 0.01 degrees a good while back, but neither technique is helping.

Am I just forgetting some step in the process, or should I repost in the Bug Report thread?
