I have a Win 98 SE system. PrimoPDF ran OK when I tried it a couple of times after installing last month, but today I kept getting a DLL error after the very last point, the orange-on-blue screen which asks for a file name and whether optimisation is wanted for screen or for print.

That error would mean that there's a problem passing the postscript info and parameters to the ghostscript dll. This would lead me to believe that there is most likely a permissions issue with the ghostscript files, or some of them have been moved.
Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling under a different user?

Don't see that working. Only one user.

I reinstalled PrimoPDF after first removing every trace of it that I could find - in the registry and in c:\windows and c:\windows\system - and now it works. It's rather faster, I might add, than the other methods I have, PDF Creator from Sourceforge and the print-to-PS-then-convert route. I now have, I find, three different versions of Ghostscript on my machine and am waiting for something to melt or explode.
