****o
I work for a state agency here in New York State and lately we have gotten a few requests from users who want to use PrimoPDF on their PC's to create PDF's. I understand that PrimoPDF is free for the home user, however I read the licensing agreement and it has a clause in the agreement which says that:
If the unit or agency is other than DOD, the Program and its documentation are classified as "commercial computer software" and "commercial computer software documentation" respectively...
So I would like to know if government use is allowed.
Thank you

Still looking for an answer to this, if the developer or moderator can chime in that would be great.
Thanks

I appreciate the response Troodon, but I would feel more comfortable with a response from the developers. I wouldn't want to hear about a lawsuit against my organization, because I took someone else's word for it. I don't want to be that IT guy. Besides I read another post around here with the same question and Douglas says that it needs to be licensed.
Anyhow the project is on hold because of license issues, they just can't agree on a solution. But that's for them to sort out and me to watch. :)

We appreciate you double checking, but Troodon is essentially right. And as from the other thread:
There are no restrictions on the actual usage however the free version of primo does not have a distributed/silent installer, nor any of the features of the full version which would allow it to function properly in a multi-user environment.

Let me clear this up,
I found out that this will actually be installed on user's desktop's so there be no need to install it on a terminal server or have the silent/distributed installation capability.
So in essence what you are saying is that we can install PrimoPDF "as is" on user's desktop's without purchasing a site license?
Just trying to make sure I have this straight.

You do have it straight. There is no restrictions on the user desktop.
