Is it possible to convert a word. doc text to a pdf. file and not print it? I want to be able to put the pdf on a cd so I can send it to a printing house. They require a pdf. file on disc.

If you make PrimoPDF the default printer, it will print in pdf, instead of on paper. If there isn't a shortcut on your start menu for Printers and Faxes, you can find it in START> Control Panel> Printers and Faxes (Classic View) (Windows XP). PrimoPDF will show up as a printer in the list. Right click on it and select "Make Default". After you make your pdf, you can do it over and change the default back to your regular printer.
If this doesn't help, try putting what your operating system is on your post.
