In 2 installations over 3 tried, there was an error about 2 files copy (from console window).
The printer is ready, seems work properly, but dhe output is a blank (full white) paper with nothing inside.
No error is given by Acrobat Reader, but the document is one page blank.

I also got a blank document when I actived the PRIMO driver from the directory.
I selected an existing PDF file from the browse function and saved it as a new name, and it's only a blank page
nothing untowards appeared to be occuring during the conversion

This is mostlikely due to a part of the GS not being installed correctly. Most likely an improper permission on the keys, or folders. Head to the ghostscript page, download and install it to the GS folder in your ProgramFiles/activepdf/primo folder.
download the exe for 95. 98, 2k etc

I have the same problems: only a blank page is created.
Downloaded the GS and extracted to the GS folder in the PrimoPDF folder.
Still only a blank page is created.
I do find the temp.ps file.
In the windows program installer/remover I tried to do a "modify" and "repair" of the PrimoPDF after the GS installation, however it didn't affect the result.
The Ghostscript homepage suggests also to download the gsv46w32.exe file - should I do so and where to place it? Should I install the Gsview graphical interface, and where to put it?
I'm no computer specialist, but a skilled user who can't get this thing working... please help!

I took a look at your ps file and what I find is this:
The only thing in the file is an append I do to respecify the creator. This leads me to believe that there is a problem creating the postscript stream. The only reasons this would happen are:
1. Primorun does not have access to the output directory - Solution:
right click the primo printer, choose properties, then the ports tab. Highlight primoport and choose configure. make sure all fields are properly populated and make sure "run as user" is checked.
2. Your print driver is incompatible with your machine - Solution:
Try downloading and installing any PS print driver (like one from adobe or MS) and install it choosing primoport when you assign the port.
3. User context of install prevents primo from pulling the configuration settings from the registry - Solution:
Uninstall then reinstall as LOCAL admin.
That's about it. I recommend downloading the latest version as I've changed primorun to no longer look to the registry for configuration of the PS output. Instead it looks for an ini in your windows dir. So go ahead and try that first then let me know if you have any more problems.

Hi,
Thanks again.
However I still only get a blank page how much I try.
For information, I run XP Pro Norweguian, Adobe Acrobat 6.01 Norwegian.
I downloaded from Adobe the PS printer driverfile (Adobe Universal PostScript Windows Driver Installer 1.0.6 - Norwegian - named winstnor.exe), installed it and assigned it to primoport.
I also checked the port configuration - looks OK to me and the "run as user" is ticked.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled as local administrator.
However still doesn't work...

There should be 2 keys and a number of paths at this location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AFPL Ghostscript\8.13
I'm guessing that the paths that are contained as the values are pointing to an incorrect spelling of your path. Make sure that they are all valid and point to the files they are supposed to.

Hi again,
I have to regret to inform that still I only get a blank page.
I edited the register to also include the doc, examples and resources/cmap, colorspace and decoding directories.
Removed and reinstalled program, however it still appears only blank page...

I finally made it!
The problem is caused by the non-enlilsh WinXP version, and
I found this solution in one of the other threads:
" I simply created the folder c:\Program Files and copied the entire ActivePDF directory to this directory (I have not deleted the original location yet to see if that makes it not work). I also had to update the printer for PrimoPDF and change the configuration to point to the files in the Program Files directory and not the Programme directory. Now I have everything working fine and all prints well.
I point this out because this will most likely give every person who uses a nonEnglish installation of Windows a problem. "
The printer update is done by configuring the printer port parameters which must point to the new Program Files directory.

Thank you very much for the info Espen. This bothers me because those values are created at install time by the Installshield installer. This means that the paths are not being generated properly and rests on the shoulders of Installshield. I'll have to write this up as a sticky when I get a chance until I can pin down the problem with the installshield people.

Thx Espen. :)
BTW Douglas Saltsman:
Wouldn't it be good to stick the issue on top in "Installation issues" and "How do I?" ? -- On my search I've come across three threads on the issue.

Installing PrimoPDF
This is a translation from a Danish guide. I haven't tested the installation in other environments (German, French &c).
1.Download PrimoSetup.exe from www.primopdf.com
2.Run the program
3.Copy the catalogue ActivePDF from your programs folder (C:\Programmer\ or something similar) to C:\Program Files\
4.Make sure that the paths in primopdf.ini peger på Program Files
5.Make sure that the printer port is configured to point to Program Files
6.Make sure that all content in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AFPL Ghostscript\8.13 points to Program Files
7.Now you can remove the catalogue ActivePDF from your initial programs folder (C:\Programmer\ or something similar). To test you can rename the folder instead

No mention of what you are trying to print. I was getting a single blank page but I could print test pages from the printer properties tab.
But I was trying to generate a new PDF from a few pages of another PDF. But I was able to create a new PDF from Notepad. So I looked at my printing options within the Adobe PDF reader I was originally printing from. When I changed to printing as image, rather than sending a PDF file, I was able to create a new PDF with PrimoPDF.
I've started to play with the PDF printer settings to find what PrimoPDF expects from the redirected printer output. Any ideas?
Perhaps the problem is in my source PDF file.

3dfella, is PrimoPDF installed in the appropriate folder, and are the paths right? (Cf. post #17, 3-6)

When I first installed the product all I got were blank documents. I operate in a networked environment and I am normally logged on as a user. When I logged on as an Administrator, all worked correctly. I then changed the permissions of C:\Program Files\activePDF. I added everyone and gave everyone full control. All now works well when I am logged on normally

I am having the same issue
I have followed all of the previous hints, gs, full access to area e.t.c but I am still getting users generating blank pages.
This is an English installation installed into c:\program files\activepdf\primopdf\
Any help offered would be gratefully appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is where your printing from check
File > Printer Set Up and make sure that it is set to that printer especially if you have another one set up and connected to the computer.
Might be worth checking the printers setting as well.
Another thing worth checking the cable between the computer and the printer.
