Hyperlinks in the PDF

Every time there is a hyperlink in the word document once converted to PDF there is a code that says <hyperlink ; etc

How do you get the hyperlinks to appear as hyperlinks and to work as hyperlinks?

Do you see the same when you choose "print preview" in Word? I would imagine it is a print option within the application. There is nothing in Primo that would change the text in any way.

No in Word - Print Preview - you see the proper hyperlinks not the coding behind it.

I have not been able to get the hyperlinks to work in my PDFs. I've tried everything but still nothing works. Are you sure hyperlinks are SUPPOSED to work?

i try it here and had no luck in getting a link to work in primoPDF writer
but i think it do to the file think it all a text base file and do not know how to embed html link in a pdf file do it it being a printer driver
if i miss something in the printer setup tell me

The hyperlink itself will not actually work. My reply was in response the post stating that the fieldcode for the hyperlink was showing up instead of formatting of the hyperlink.

I'm trying to print to PrimoPDF from a WPWin (ver 11) document with embedded hyperlinks. The text looks good in the .pdf output, the hyperlink is blue (as I would expect) and is underlined (which should indicate the hyperlink).

However, the hyperlink doesn't work. Are you saying that it isn't going to (or isn't even supposed to) in the output file??

That is correct.

For this to work the postscript would have to be interpretted differently by the pdf library and this is not a feature of ghostscript at the time. If they do support this feature in the future it will be reflected in Primo.

I understand, but if not via primo, is there some other way/program that will enable pdf files to have active links? I have made a dozen pdf files (from word docs) of info for my site on subjects not likely to interest every visitor - so that inviduals may download them. These info sheets contain many links to other sites, so I really would like to find a way of having them be active, enabling visitors to visit directly, without me having to put in the full URLs in text form for them to copy.

That requires VBA code in a "Create PDF" type macro in Word and PrimoPDF does not support that. The only way to add hyperlinks after the fact is with the full version of Acrobat (I think Standard lets you do it). There may be other products that let you do that as well, but none affiliated with activePDF.

Hi All,

it is possible to keep all links running with a free add-in from Microsoft that allows one to save any MS Office 2007 document. It is called "SaveAsPDFandXPS.exe", small (934kb) and works really well.
